We hold to the Three Ecumenical Creeds of the Church, the Apostles, Nicene and Athanasian Creed. We hold to the Five Solas of the Reformation: Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura), Christ Alone (Solus Christus), Faith Alone (Sola Fide), Grace Alone (Sola Gratia), to the Glory of God Alone (Soli Deo Gloria). We adhere to the Lutheran Confessions as found in the Book of Concord.

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11

We proclaim the Law and Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: the sinful state of man which renders our works and merits worthless before God, the perfect life of Christ and His death and resurrection for our sins, and the salvation that is available to all who hear the Gospel through grace by faith. In doing this we make disciples and offer baptism to all who would follow Jesus Christ.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19

We hold to the promise Christ made in Matthew 16:18 that He will build His Church upon the confession that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. We pray that He will build our congregation as we faithfully confess and proclaim Him to Statesville and minister to the community here.

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18b
