“What We Believe” Catechism and Confirmation Class

Catechism is an ancient and time-honored practice within the Church from as early as the 1st Century AD. This process of Catechism helps teach those core beliefs of the Christian faith and the Lutheran Confessions as found in the Small and Large Catechism written by Martin Luther. During this class, we walk through the catechism and discuss the principles of the Christian faith. At this time, this is offered to adults and youth alike, though in the future we will have separate classes for adults and youth. At the end of the class, we offer Confirmation in the Lutheran Church for those who have not yet been confirmed or reception into the Lutheran Church for those who may have been confirmed in another confession of the Church.

If you have been confirmed, we welcome you to join us in this class. Martin Luther wrote the catechisms for the regular discipleship and edification of Christians throughout their lives, and your insights would be welcomed.

Our classes begin on January 21st at 6pm and will be held every Sunday at 6pm after that. We will hold our Confirmation service on Pentecost Sunday. Please let us know if you would like to participate so that we can order enough Catechisms for everyone.

“Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.” Hebrews 6:1-2
